Telehealth Speech Pathology Supports

At Tiny Treasures, we provide our services via telehealth, which is the delivery of therapy through secure video conferencing technology. Our services support parent-led intervention by empowering caregivers to actively participate in their child’s communication and feeding development from home. Telehealth supports offer evidence based intervention and provides:

  • Convenient access to specialised speech and feeding therapy regardless of geographic location

  • Eliminates travel time and associated costs for families

  • Flexible scheduling options to suit family routines

  • Enables therapy in the child’s natural environment, promoting generalisation of skills

  • Supports timely intervention without waiting for in-person appointments

  • Enhances parental involvement and coaching during sessions

  • Reduces exposure to illnesses, promoting safer health practices

Feeding Supports

Feeding supports at Tiny Treasures are designed to assist children aged 0-5 who experience difficulties with eating and feeding. Amy is passionate about working closely with families to develop personalised, responsive feeding strategies that promote positive mealtime experiences and support the child's nutritional needs and developmental milestones. Amy has many years of experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to support paediatric feeding, including caring for neonates, infants and children with complex medical diagnoses. Amy continues to work publicly in this space also.

Tiny Treasures feeding supports include:

  • Supporting the transition from tube (e.g. NG) to oral feeding

  • Optimising breast and bottle-feeding through positioning, pacing and equipment recommendations

  • Promoting safe feeding practices to prevent choking or aspiration

  • Developing oro-motor skills to support children to move through solid food textures

  • Collaborating with families to create personalised, responsive feeding plans and mealtime routines

  • Supporting growth and nutritional intake through effective feeding strategies and liaison with appropriate professions e.g. Dietetics

  • Help with picky eating.

Communication Supports

Tiny Treasures provides speech pathology communication supports for children 0-5 years. Support strategies in speech and language therapy vary depending on the age and stage of the child. For younger children, especially infants and toddlers, interventions are often parent-based. This approach involves coaching parents on how to embed therapy techniques into daily routines, fostering communication and interaction skills through natural interactions.

Amy uses a strength based approach, specialising in:

  • Early language development, including Parent-child interaction therapy

  • Developing language and interaction in play and routines

  • Introduction of AAC

  • Child Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

  • Speech Sound Disorders

  • Pre-school & Prep literacy skills
